Hi All,
Hope your summer has been going well, and that those of you who have been suffering from drought and excessive heat have had at least a little rain. I have to say that here in the semi-arid East of England, we haven’t had more than a few millilitres; but what we’ve had has been welcome and the grass on the village green is starting to change colour from the all-pervading brown we’ve had for the last month or so.
If you’ll forgive a personal note, it’s been a special month for me. On 14 August, five years to the day since we first met, Gary and I got married in a thoroughly joyful, tiny ceremony in Suffolk, followed by a champagne afternoon tea at a Tudor Manor House, supported by two close friends.
We surprised our extensive families with the news in the afternoon, and I think there was general amazement, given they know us both pretty well, that we’d managed to keep it all secret for over a year. Especially as we had lots of family visits in the last couple of months. Thanks to everyone for your good wishes.
While we were busy in Woodbridge, Joffe Books was busy on other fronts. Book 8 in the Geldard series, now Fear on the Norfolk Broads, has been doing well and has already garnered over 200 new reviews, averaging 4.7 out of 5 when I last looked. Book 9, the last to be re-released, should be up for pre-order by the time you read this.
But best news of all, for those of my dedicated readers who have been patiently waiting for Book 10. Killing on the Norfolk Broads is on schedule for pre-order on 15 September, with the ebook released on the 22nd and the paperback on 6 October.
Which is fairly good timing for my visit to The Old School Bookshop on 24 September. The link below gives you all the details if you happen to be in the area. I’m really looking forward to it.
Finally, it was a great pleasure to share some Advanced Reading Copies (ARCs) of Book No 10 and reviews are already filtering in. If you’d like to be on the list for an ARC of future books, let me know by emailing info@heatherpeckauthor.com and putting ARC in the heading. The deal is, you get an advance, free copy of the ebook and you produce a review which you post, at least to Amazon when the time comes, and ideally on your blog or Substack page.
